What to expect?

A walkers paradise! Uninhibited natural beauty in both land and wildlife. There is no where on Shetland that is more than three miles from the sea, the coastline is superb for walking and you can be assured of spectacular scenery.
Between April and July the migrating birds are at their height,and the place simple resounds with their calls. The wild flowers are small gems on a green and blue canvas, and the sunsets are often breathtaking at any time of the year.
The Shetlanders are very friendly and helpful people, and always proud of their environment and wiling to help and advise.
Do not expect to sit and sunbathe on the wonderful beaches, though it can be warm sometimes it is not a sunbathing destination. The beaches however are beautiful and you will often have them to yourself. The sea is clear and clean, and for the hardy swimmer very exhilarating!
